QFREB News > Stability in Housing Starts in Québec in 2018

According to preliminary data from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), there were 40,821 housing starts in Québec centres with 10,000 or more inhabitants during the year  2018. This represents the same level as in 2017. The Trois-Rivières (+14 per cent) and Sherbrooke (+12 per cent) Census Metropolitan Areas (CMAs) registered the largest increases while the Québec CMA (-19 per cent) is the only one to have experienced a decline.
