Mattress can get pretty expensive though, especially if you want the best one in the market but it will surely last for a long time and provide you with high-quality sleep.

If you’re still hesitating to buy one, you have to understand the importance of mattresses & sleep:

It allows your body and mind to recharge.

Fatigue can accumulate after an exhausting day of work if you do not allow yourself to relax and give your body a break.

Low-quality mattresses have been found to aggravate fatigue and you would not want that.

When one is in a state of sleep, the body goes through many processes like repairing cells so that they can work as good as new the next day.

This will make you wake up feeling refreshed and alert.

It regulates hormones.

Studies have shown that irregular and abnormal sleep causes alterations in metabolic and endocrinal processes.

For example, growth hormones, cortisol, and appetite-regulating hormones are reliant on one’s sleep quality.

It helps you fight off illnesses

Our immune response consists of innate and adaptive immunity.

The former is responsible for preventing foreign pathogens from invading the body while the latter works to help recognize specific pathogens through antigens when the innate immune system fails.

Lack of sleep can cause a weak immunity because then, the body would no longer have enough time to free up energy for melatonin work. This is needed to counteract the stress that goes along with the inflammatory process during sleep.

It prevents weight gain

As previously mentioned, sleep helps regulate appetite through hormones. Leptin and ghrelin can be made in excess when a person is sleep-deprived causing appetite to increase which makes weight gain more likely than normal.

It increases athletic performance

Motivation and sleep have a direct relationship and it’s no secret that motivation strongly influences an athlete’s success. If one has an upcoming competition and the athlete is sleep-deprived, the body would not be able to recover in time and it will be more likely to acquire fatigue and injuries.

It boosts memory

Sleep strengthens neural connections for the brain to consolidate memory processing, allowing us to learn and retain information. Poor sleep can cause brain functions to deteriorate quickly over some time.

Nowadays, we are spending more time in bed than we ever did because of the pandemic, so a good mattress can make a really good addition to your bedroom!

We always take for granted how salient the relationship is between mattresses & sleep. Start putting more importance on what truly matters.

If you still have doubts about whether you should make the purchase, ask yourself if you are happy and satisfied with your sleep quality and if you’re not, buy a mattress for better sleep.
