QFREB News > Housing Starts are Up in Québec in May 2019

According to preliminary data from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), there were 4,156 housing starts in Québec centres with 10,000 or more inhabitants in May 2019. This represents a 23 per cent increase compared to May of last year. The Gatineau (+137 per cent) and Québec (+45 per cent) Census Metropolitan Areas (CMAs) registered the largest increases while the Sherbrooke (-19 per cent) and Trois-Rivières (-3 per cent)  CMAs registered large declines.
