Archives > Decrease in Housing Starts in Québec in October 2018

According to preliminary data from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), there were 4,199 housing starts in Québec centres with 10,000 or more inhabitants in October 2018. This represents a 9 per cent drop compared to October of last year. The Trois-Rivières (+284 per cent) and Québec (+15 per cent) Census Metropolitan Areas (CMAs) registered the largest increases while the Sherbrooke (-53 per cent) and Montréal (-19 per cent) CMAs registered the largest decreases.
