The Federation provides real estate boards and their members with a variety of services in areas such as professional practices, government relations and market analysis.

Market Analysis

The Federation's Market Analysis Department is Québec's authority in the analysis of residential real estate sales data. In addition to analyzing and publishing detailed monthly, quarterly and annual statistics, the Department produces several studies, including the MLS® Barometer – Residential Market, and various chronological series and special compilations which are made available to the public. As well, the Federation's economists are always up-to-date on the most recent economic indicators that influence market performance, and regularly publish newsletters, reports and analyses on a variety of topics affecting the residential real estate market.

Government Relations

The mission of the Government Relations Department of the Québec Federation of Real Estate Boards is to defend the interests of Federation members among government authorities, as well as implement, promote and lobby on a variety of real estate related issues and interests.

The Government Relations Committee, which is made up of real estate brokers from across the province, is working to create and maintain a network of connections among elected officials throughout Québec. Committee members regularly meet with industry stakeholders in order to present the Federation's positions on real estate related interests.

These positions are based on the Quality of Life Program, whose goal is to demonstrate the real estate industry's commitment to improving the quality of life of communities across the province. The Quality of Life Program is based on five main principles that shape the political and public directions that a real estate organization should develop.

The Department also works jointly with The Canadian Real Estate Association to strengthen its lobbying efforts nationally.

Professional Practices

The Professional Practices Department of the Québec Federation of Real Estate Boards offers conciliation and arbitration services to real estate professionals who are members of a real estate board. These services allow members to effectively resolve commission disputes that may arise during real estate transactions, and demonstrate the organized real estate industry's commitment to self-regulation.

The Professional Practices Department also provides seminars to all real estate boards which better assist real estate brokers in the event of a dispute. Brokers are educated on the various situations that may arise as part of a case and then are better able to cope.
